CULCHETH TABLE TENNIS CLUB

Competitive Table Tennis has been played at the Culcheth Sports Club ever since the formation of our forerunner the Daten Sports and Social Club in the 1950's. In recent years there has been a resurgence of interest in the sport and, with the aid of promotional grants from sports organisations, Culcheth Table Tennis Club is well placed to provide first class facilities and coaching for the game in future years.
We have a dedicated large Table Tennis Room at Culcheth Sports Club where we play all our League matches and can practise. In addition, plans are well advanced to provide lighting to accommodate a multi-table layout in the Main Hall at the Club for coaching and special events. With the aid of a Millenium Sport for All Grant we have recently been able to purchase five new high quality match tables which will facilitate our expansion plans.
The Table Tennis Club has seven teams of three playing in the Warrington Leagues at various levels. Three teams play in the First Division, three in the Second, and one in the Third Division. Most of the team players are Seniors but some of our Juniors are also able to compete very effectively at this level. The League matches run from September to April and are usually played every weekday evening except Fridays.
In addition to the League matches we enter our teams in the Handicap Knockouts which are run in each Division of the Warrington League, and commence at the half way stage of the season. Our Members also enter the Individual Knockout Competitions which the League runs at the end of each season for Juniors, Seniors and Veterans.
We have no Ladies teams in the Warrington Leagues but the Club has a Ladies Social Table Tennis Section which plays on Tuesday evenings throughout the year. They use the Table Tennis Room when it is free, but on other occasions they erect a table in the Daten Lounge.

CASUAL PLAY
The table in the Table Tennis Room is available for the use of Culcheth Sports Club Members and their guests when it is not being used by Table Tennis Club Members. There is a small charge which should be paid at the bar.

NEW MEMBERS
We are always looking for fresh players of whatever standard with a view to increasing the number of teams who play in the Warrington League. Please do not hesitate to contact one of the below club officials if you are interested.

JUNIOR COACHING PLANS
We are particularly keen to encourage younger players, and are currently formulating plans for "after school" Junior coaching in association with local schools, utilising a grant for this purpose from the Sports Council.
We currently have about 30 Senior and Junior Members, but welcome new players at any stage in the season and would be pleased to have you register your interest in the proposed Junior Coaching scheme You should already be a Member of Culcheth Sports Club, but if not we can easily make the necessary arrangements. You can either just turn up on match nights or contact any of the Club Officials listed below in advance:
